With alert eyes you give me a whine,
a nibble of food and you are always fine
You ate my peanuts as I split them apart,
now that you are gone I have a broken heart

I didn't say goodbye. now I miss you so much
your scratches and barks as you made a big fuss
You were my special little girl, fiery and wild
I petted and spoiled you my special little child

Hand fed from a pup, one kibble at a time
I never stopped even after you turned nine

You stayed in your cubby hiding from the weather
waiting for me to make it all better
We rose in the morning we stared at the sun
with nuzzles and kisses it was all good fun

You kept me strong when I struggled and fell
with the eyes of a hawk you could always tell

Now go roam the heavens my sweet little girl
spin in the clouds and have a little twirl
Roam the golden meadows and keep everyone in line
with your stub tail and white paws the angels won't mind
Play with your brother and have lots of fun
I will join you some day when my time here is done.
